The Nordic-American Dialogue 2009 was held in Avesta, Sweden, on September 13 – 18, 2009.

Main topics were Transatlantic Security in the 21st Century and the Northern Dimension.

The Nordic-American Dialogue brings together young people who have each achieved distinction in their field. The 30-40 delegates with 15-20 from each side of the Atlantic meet for a week  to debate issues of mutual importance. Delegates come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and include rising stars from the world of government, business, media and the voluntary and non-profit sector.

The dialogue aims to maintain and strengthen Nordic–American ties especially in the fields of political, economic, social, environmental and technological development. It questions the means we use to enhance the growth and competitiveness of our countries, and tries to find solutions for maintaining a sustainable and successful society in today’s changing world.
